About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person - Centred counsellor/psychotherapist working in the Kentish Town and Hampstead Heath areas of North London.
As a Person - Centred therapist my aim is to provide a genuine relationship with empathy and acceptance at the core and a safe space where we untangle current, and past, experiences to make sense of your innermost sensations and feelings.
You might be experiencing symptoms of anxiety, stress and/or depression and seeking answers to why this may be so. You may feel lost and are seeking meaning and purpose; a way forwards.
I have personally felt the transforming power of being in a therapeutic relationship with a therapist who 'got me' by truly listening to my experiences. When I felt safe enough to reveal my most painful and disorganised parts of my being she was able to communicate her understanding and I felt valued and cared for. In time, I was able to offer this acceptance and valuing to myself which was incredibly healing and empowering.
Practice description
I believe you hold the ability to heal past, and present, emotional hurt within the safe boundaries of a therapeutic relationship that provides the right conditions for growth; empathy, acceptance and understanding.
The very nature of therapy can mean at times it feels incredibly powerful when a meaningful connection is made; like the sun has suddenly broke free from the clouds. Yet, at other times the healing process can be slow, challenging and dark; like you're walking through deep sludge.
I currently work with adults on a 1:1 basis and offer clients outdoor therapy, traditional room based sessions or remote therapy - either online or by telephone.
I understand choosing a therapist, and then making contact, can feel like a huge step which is why I offer an introductory telephone call (approx. 20 minutes). This provides a space for you to share in a little more detail your reasons for seeking therapy and I can answer questions relating to my way of working. We may then make plans to meet for an initial session.
My first session
After the introductory call I will invite you for an initial session either at my practice room or over Zoom. This session is offered at a reduced rate. Please contact me for more information.
